King & Country is a firm founded by Andy Neilson, a former British Royal Marine Commando, which produces a series of figures and figure sets which "freeze" a moment in history. They authentically portray soldiers and equipment as they were in World War II and modern times. They are exquisitely hand-painted in a matte finish "battle worn" mode showing how they looked "in the field." Most are in animated poses and seem ready to move in response to the situations in which they find themselves. All are in scale to each other, that scale being 1/32 or 54mm. Soldier figures are 2 1/4 inches high and are cast in fine pewter. Tanks are about eight inches long depending on the size of the real thing and are cast in durable Polystone.
Also available are "scenics", which include building facades, damaged equipment, fences, etc. that can be used with the sets to make interesting dioramas for you to display, further enhancing the "look" of your collection. There is also a new series of 1/32 aircraft called "Warbirds."
These are true collectibles. From time to time, the sets are "retired" which means they will never be available again. This is why in the K&C brochures (See listings below.) you will see sets not listed on our price list. We will try to give you as much advance notice as possible when a set is to be retired), but it is a good idea to keep possible retirement in mind when deciding what your next set will be.
The good news in this is that the sets you have could increase in value in anticipation of the "secondary" market, that is collectors looking for retired sets they do not have. (A word of advice: Keep the boxes in which your sets come as collectibles like this always are more valuable if they are in their original boxes.)
K&C continually produces new sets to replace ones that have been retired. Let's say you are interested in getting a PzKw V Panther but see none are available. K&C will be producing a replacement in the future in a different version and/or different paint scheme. By the way, there is nothing stopping you from mixing figures from different sets to form your own dioramas.
So indeed these are high quality military collectibles which make for colorful and meaningful collections. As with other lines we carry, an item that you order may not be in stock. If not, we will backorder the item for you and ship it immediately when it comes in. Your credit card will not be charged until we do. Note that these sets can be ordered on the same order with any other lines of ships, armor and aircraft that we carry. So, we wish you happy and exciting collecting!
There is also a new series of 1/32 aircraft. Go to the "Aircraft" section on our site for listings.
